I heard a band cover "This Land" just two weeks ago and found myself getting misty eyed. "Fortunate Son" never fails to strike a nerve. Me? I substitute Bruce's "Born in the USA" for "Shut out the Lights". I'd also find an old video copy of Marvin Gaye doing the National Anthem at the NBA All Star Game. I might be tempted to rev up the Clash's "I'm So Bored", but would probably settle for Sam Cooke's "A Change is gonna come." From his lips... Wonderful stuff.
